CCAC Project with Y5
Year 5 have had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a co-design collaboration project with the charity Climate Change All Change (CCAC) twice. The purpose of the project is to blend climate literacy and creative design solutions to the climate crisis. You can find out more about CCAC using the link to their website below. You can also watch a video of our first project by following the second link.
The first project was supported by two talented designers, Finbar Charleson and Jack Cardno, who led the co-design project in conjunction with the Year 5 teachers. The second project was led by four designers from Bristol firms Arup and AHMM. During the projects, the children thought about the local area and how Bristol may look in 50-100 years time. They worked together to design environmentally-friendly buildings, using renewable resources and had the opportunity to present these ideas to a panel at the end of term. Over the summer, the architects developed the projects into amazing CGI models. These were then presented back to the children, parents and members of the local community.
Work from our last project is on display at the Young V&A museum in London and this year, the Year 5's work has been displayed at the Tobacco Factory for the public to view.
