Term 1 Homework

1) Please read with your child daily or encourage them to read independently for pleasure. 

2) Spelling Shed / Spelling words - please encourage your child to practice the weekly words either using the website/app or using any suitable method you prefer.

3) Times tables / TimesTable Rockstars - all Y4 children need to learn their tables up to 12 x 12.

4)  There is a Roman project homework this term. Please scroll to the bottom of the page for more information on this. There will be 3 homework projects in year 4. 

Term 1 spellings 

Week 1 (words that are homophones) accept, except, knot, not, peace, piece, plain, plane, weather, whether

Week 2  (words with the prefix ’in-’ meaning ‘not’) inability, inactive, inadequate, incorrect, incurable, indefinite, inelegant, inflexible, insecure, invisible

Week 3 (words with the prefixes ’il-’, ‘im-’ and ‘ir-’) illegal, illegible, immature, immortal, impossible, impatient, imperfect, irregular, irrelevant, irresponsible

Week 4 (words with the prefix ’sub-’ meaning ‘below’ or further divided) subdivide, subheading, subject, submarine, submerge, submit, substandard, subtitle, subtropical, subway

Week 5 (words with the prefix ’inter-’ meaning ‘between or among’) interact, intercept, interchange, intercity, intercom, interface, interfere, international, internet, interview
