Making a safeguarding referral
If you are worried about the well-being or safety of a child, you must notify someone immediately about your concerns. Staff must log all concerns on the CPOMS system.
If there is an immediate risk and/or out of school hours, please ‘phone:
- Police on 999
- Bristol First Response on 0117 9036444, or the Emergency Duty Team on 01454 615165, if out of hours
- Please inform the DSL either verbally or via CPOMS if a member of staff.
If there is NOT an immediate risk, please contact:
Gareth Jones (DSL), Laura Dowlman (DDSL), Ali Donaldson (DDSL) or Alex Hawkins (DDSL) on 0117 9030236 or via CPOMS.
Reporting concerns about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
FGM is illegal. The law says you MUST tell the Police where disclosure or signs of FGM are noted, or where you know or suspect FGM has been, or will be, perpetrated. When you phone the Police, ask for a crime reference number. Inform the DSL and log on CPOMS.
If there is an immediate risk, ‘phone the Police on 999 (emergency number)
If there is NOT an immediate risk, ‘phone the Police on 101 (non-emergency number)
